Thank you to all the dedicated donors who donated blood during terrible weather conditions in January. Patients at local hospitals – moms, dads, children, neighbors, co-workers and friends - appreciated your gift in their time of need.

This February and March, anyone who visits a BloodSource center or mobile blood drive to donate blood will receive a coupon for a free personal one-topping pizza from Round Table Pizza. "This promotion comes at such a good time," said BloodSource Director of Operations Debbie Milios. "Blood donations are particularly important during winter months, as an increased number of auto accidents and the cold and flu season often impact community blood supplies."

BloodSource is the blood services partner for the American Red Cross in the Shasta region. Visit the BloodSource website www.bloodsource.org or call toll-free 866-822-5663 (866-82-BLOOD) to make an appointment to donate blood at 1880 Park Marina Drive in Redding. Upcoming mobile drives that may be convenient include:

• Dunsmuir Community blood drive, Thursday Feb. 7 from 2:00 – 6:30 pm located at the Community Building
• Mt. Shasta Mall blood drive, Saturday Feb. 9 from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm during Shasta Regional Medical Center’s Health Fest
• Weaverville Community blood drive, Tuesday Feb. 12 from 12:30 – 6:00 pm located at the Fire Hall
• Red Bluff Community blood drive, Wednesday Feb. 20 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm located at the Veteran’s Memorial Building

Any Red Cross supporter, adult or teenager, at any location can have their blood donation acknowledged in a Red Cross donor club. Remember to say that you are donating on behalf of the American Red Cross!
